 Rant time… Native American racism is one thing that gets me truly upset. As someone who is the stereotypical American definition of “melting pot”, you might not think so. The funny thing is, growing up I always wondered if I was adopted because all of my maternal family are dark-skinned with straight black hair, while I was a super-pale strawberry-brunette with curly hair. 
 Most of my Scottish heritage comes from my Grandfather, and my biological father. Despite this, my father’s grandmother was an Indian medicine woman, and my maternal side has a rich Indian heritage, which we can trace back to Pocahontas thanks to having family members invested in genealogy.
 Posts like this make me upset on two levels. Firstly, because of spoiled kids who have no sense of culture, and second, because I’ve been written off my whole life when trying to express and stand up for the Native American struggle because of the way I look. Hell, I even have a card issued by the federal government that legitimizes my American Indian status. /rant
